Protectors

Fearless Protectors of Their Loved Ones

Loyalty is not just about being physically present, it’s about protecting those we care about. Staffordshire Bull Terriers have a natural protective instinct, and while they are affectionate and loving, they are also incredibly alert and vigilant when it comes to their family. These dogs are often known to be highly attuned to their owner's emotions, and they have an innate sense of when their loved ones might be in distress.

The Staffordshire Bull Terrier’s protective nature doesn’t mean they are aggressive, but rather that they are incredibly attuned to their family’s needs. That sense of loyalty extends to guarding the people they love, making them reliable guardians. However, in my experience Staffies are not the dog you want if you need one to stay outside and guard your property. For two reasons, this will crush them as they need human interaction and two, their protective instincts are towards people not, property. My dogs greet every person whether a UPS driver, mail lady, or door-to-door salesman with the same level of enthusiasm as they greet my family.  This is one of the reasons I love them and that they can have the freedom they do around my property. This trait along with their breed standard description of ‘trustworthy stability’ means i am never concerned they will attack someone, unless that person is about to do us harm.
